Saab - New Face For 9-3, Engine For 9-5

The updated Saab 9-3 is coming in with a slight facelift, a grille somewhat larger than previous models. Big grilles are in these days, after all.

But more major changes are under the hood, where the full range of gasoline engines has improved the consumption performance by 7%.

The new TTiD 1.9 diesel, another option of UK and possibly US buyers, brings in a total of 180 horsepower and lowers fuel consumption.

Saab First EV - 9-3 ePower

Swedish auto maker Saab will unveil their 9-3 ePower EV at the Paris Motor Show. This marks the introduction of Saab's very first EV ride. ePower is based on the 9-3 SportCombi wagon, and the EV's projected driving range between charges is 125 miles.

The 9-3 ePower, after its 2010 Paris debut, will begin fleet testing next year in Sweden. Saab said it wants to evaluate real world performance "as part of the development process for a purpose-built, electric Saab vehicle."
